BYU sports has been a big focus of our Fall. The Football team was pretty good this year and went undefeated for 9 straight games before finally losing a game. Somewhere amidst all the hyper Derek's Come Follow Me for the week may or may not have included the general conference talk delivered by LaVell Edwards- BYU's greatest football coach- about serving a mission.
Derek bought the family tickets to the football games and we went to every game (except I skipped out of one cold game to go help with the arrival of baby Ava). Steve also bought a bunch of seats for the family so we could all sit together in a big group.
And once when Jared Morris was in town after his Mom had passed away, I gave up my ticket so he could go to a game with Derek. Jared snatched this sweet picture of Derek helping his Dad walk into the game.

Big Noon Saturday came to Provo and the boys and Chase all went down early to catch it.
Carter got to shake Mark Ingram's hand!
Hot chocolate has been a big hit at the cold games.
We drove down to the ASU vs. BYU game with Chase and Daniella. We drove to St. George on Thursday night, then down to Arizona on Friday. The kids played a detective game with Daniella for most of the drive. We stopped at Hoover Dam.
We met Grams, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Mike at Red Lobster for dinner.
On Saturday, the boys played in the pool with Chase. Here are the kids in the elevator all ready for the game.
Then, we toured walked around ASU campus before the game. They had the coolest tailgate set up for homecoming. They had this whole space display and snakes and spiders and scorpions some which could be held.
We found the chapel my Mom and Dad were first married in on ASU campus.
We lost the game, but the game was still and exciting one.
One memorable part was that the fans all stormed the field when they thought they had one, but there was actually a couple seconds left on the clock so then they all had to get off the field again and watch the game finish before they then stormed the field again.
And BYU dominated in the end of season bowl game too. The basketball team is equally fun to watch this year. They got a new coach, Coach Young whom they stole from the Phoenix suns. They have been able to recruit some fun players. It has been really fun for the boys to interact with Keba and Fuse who have essentially been fostered by Carlos (our back door neighbor).
Sometimes on Sunday evenings they will come over and shoot hoops with the boys. The kids are all obsessed with BYU and are wanting all the BYU merchandise that Derek doesn't seem to mind buying them at all. All part of our plan to brainwash them into being BYU fans and wanting to someday be BYU students.
