Footloose

Carter and Liv decided to try out for Footloose with Fields and Co. Both were offered parts and after a leading boy dropped out of the younger cast Camden was persuaded to step in as well. This was the first full length play that all my kids have done together.
Several neighbor friends also participated and Liv had lots of theater friends with her in the show as well.

It was really hard trying to motivate the boys to learn lines, practice dance steps, and stay engaged in music and all rehearsals for the couple months that they practiced. I vowed this would be the last play the boys ever did because it felt like pulling teeth at times. However, once it got to performance time they all loved it and they did such a fabulous job. They had a younger kids cast and an older cast (which only Liv choose to perform in) Camden was Chuck and he did such a great job pulling off a bad guy (especially the hair). Carter was Jeter (one of Ren’s friends) I loved watching him carry all the boys in the Mama Says song which was darling. Liv was Ethel McCorkmick (Wren’s Mom) and as much as I think she really wanted to play one of the younger teenager roles, she really did such a fabulous job with this. The trio song “Learning to be Silent” Song by her, the preacher’s wife and Ariel (played by Audrey) was just beautiful and such a treat to listen to. Liv also played a band member of Cowboy Bob’s Band in the older cast. You could tell she loved performing with that older more experienced cast and it was fun to watch her in that role as well.

Liv's 13th Birthday

Liv threw the hugest boy/girl birthday party at our place there were over 40 kids in our backyard. It was Taylor Swift themed sort of. They played name that Taylor Swift song at the beginning. There was pizza and popcorn and candy and soda. As soon as it got dark they watched Hometeam on the back wall of our garage via projector. We had so many couches and chairs set out and unbeknownst to me though I was out there refilling candy and popcorn and picking up candy wrappers there was an entire row of kids sitting on our patio couch holding hand. Including Liv and the crush of the moment “Stinky Linky” and also Carter and Pearl. I felt bad that I moved into this new neighborhood with all these fun kids and all then threw this rager party where they all paired up and held hands. But it was also a little comical and I guess there was no safer environment for Liv (and Carter) to have their first hand holding experience. She got so many presents but one of her favorite was tickets from Star for her and Savannah to go see the Taylor Swift movie. They dressed up for the occasion and said they were the only ones dancing in the isles, but had a blast and didn’t care a bit!

There was a big tri stake dance recently and since she will turn 14 in 2024 she was able to attend. She had fun primping with her friend Star.  She came up dressed in a sweatshirt- that was the long thought about dance outfit.  I dropped them off and she came home all excited, had the best time and two boys asked her to dance.  She is growing up so quick and not a little girl at all anymore. She continues to work so hard and loves to be social. Her last term of school she again had all As with over 100% in almost every class.
