Derek took me on a lunch date to Viva Chicken. I love that place and Babi and Papou made pizza at home with the kids. Then the made Valentine's sugar cookies with Babi.
The kids swam about 4 times a day in Babi and Papou's swimming pool and all came home with rashes and irritation from the chlorine, but I am pretty sure they think it was worth it. Sunday was Valentine's day. I brought everyone's favorite chocolates and passed them out. Babi set up a front porch Valentine's Day tea party for the kids.
Then, we thought we might attempt an overlook hike up Kolob Canyon in Zion National Park. However, when we drove up there it was several feet higher in elevated, the trail was covered in snow and it was quite windy and cold which we were ill prepared for. However, just the drive up that canyon with the snow covered red rock was gorgeous and worth driving for.
We instead went back closer to St. George and let the kids climb around on some red rock in a warmer environment.
Then, I got to visit with my old college roommate, Wendy Roper. She recently built a home in St. George. She gave me a tour. It was a beautiful home. That night George and Derek made a fabulous Valentine's Dinner for us all while Mom and went around looking at parade of homes houses.
Monday morning we did all our laundry before packing up and heading back to home. Surprisingly, despite multiple sports tournaments and parade of homes. We had no traffic at all on the way home and the weather cooperated for the entire drive and then starting dumping snow soon after we got home. Babi sent London home with an orthopedic bed for old dogs. Debate is still out whether she actually likes it. Occasionally she does choose to lay on it.
