We have been a traveling bunch. I'd like to say we plan to just stay home now, but we are off again to Seattle next weekend. First we went to see my Mom in Chicago. D and I got to go to a Cubs vs. Yankees game. And the Cubbies actually won! My Mom was so excited to babysit Livie for the day while we were gone. The whole game I kept getting text pictures. Livie and Babi (short for Babcha which is Grandma in polish) on a stroller ride, Livie and Babi eating lunch, Babi rocking Livie to sleep...
And although Livie missed the Wrigley experience. She was all dressed for the occasion.
My Mom treated me to a body scrub at King spa. This was a very interested spa. They have a whole bunch of different hot rooms all different temperature, all different themes (the gold room, the amethyst room, ice room, etc). Each room is supposed to do a different sort of healing. They have a bunch of different hot and cold pools which of course you get to experience in the nude. Totally different. Somehow we even convinced Derek and George to join us on our spa day. I have to post this picture just to document that they were there (and actually loved it).
And while she looks rather cute sitting on that motorbike with George, I seriously hope he didn't spur any bright ideas.
My Mom was determined to have Livie put her feet in lake Michigan so we did. Can't say that Livie loved it. She actually seemed a little freaked out about it.
All in all it was a great time! Livie and I were home for a total of 3 days when the two of us headed right back to the airport and flew to Reno for my 10 year high school reunion. The reunion was a blast. It was so fun to catch up with everyone. But, it was also so fun to spend some good time with Aunt Kylie and Grandpa. We went on a hike everyday. In fact, I purchased a backpack to hike with Livie just for the occasion because I knew we would end up doing a lot of hiking with my Dad. Livie loved going on hikes. She was serenading us all along the trail and when she got tired, she just fell asleep. She did not love the canopy though. She insisted on sticking her head outside of it the whole time (so much for keeping the sun off her face).
Kylie was brave enough to paint Livie's toenails. Can't say she loved that either, but her little piggies sure are cute with red polish. Here is a pick with all of our red toes.
Then, we spent the 4th of July at home. We got up early that morning and participated in our first family race. It was fun to run together. Derek swears he'll never do another 10K, but I think we can finagle him into another.
