I Succumb to Leprechauns Visiting on St. Patrick's Day

When I was young, Leprechauns never came to visit or play pranks at my house on St. Patrick's Day.  We did wear green and generally my Mom made corned beef and cabbage.  So that was how St. Patty's got celebrated at our house until Olivia went to kindergarten and all the other kids had Leprechauns at that house and she patiently waited all day thinking every time we left when we returned we would see evidenced of Leprechauns.  That year the Leprechauns left a cupcake and apologized for getting there so late?  The next year, they played a few pranks and now this year St. Patrick's Day was a full blown could hardly wait looked forward to holiday.  What would the Leprechauns do?!

This year they pulled all our Christmas card pictures off the wall (finally) and laid them out in the pattern of a 4 leaf clover.

They left the kids a taunting message on the kitchen floor.

They changed out the salt in our salt shaker for green sprinkles.  They peed in the kids potties leaving green foot prints on the toilet seat.  And left a few prank like surprises like whoopie cushions (or rather Unicorn Fluffs, T-rex toots, and sloth puffs) and fake rats, boogers, and poop that could be flung off your finger.
Along with a rainbow picture with a bowl of gold candies at the end.  Liv begged and begged me to buy all kinds of material for her to make a leprechaun trap and I refused and the the Leprechauns ended up setting up a human trap for her.

I happened to be on call that morning early at the hospital, but Derek called to tell me how excited the kids were and Liv patiently spent the morning cleaning up all the messes the Leprechauns had left around the house.  I guess we have succumbs to the fact that Leprechaun visits make St. Patty's more fun!
