The kids were so excited to go caroling. Liv, our little performing really wanted to sing a solo (O Holy Night her favorite Christmas song this year). So then the boys decided they wanted to sing Up on the Housetop that they had been learning at Preschool all by themselves. And then we all sang We wish you a Merry Christmas together at the end. We went caroling to Susan, Kathleen and Sherman, and then Debbie Harrison, our neighbor who is currently confined to bed with MS. On the way there, Liv put up such a fight about having music to accompany her from a phone when she was singing but I told her we were just gonna sing on the doorstep and not have nay phones going. There was yelling and tears and I wondered what kind of scene we were going present at that first house. However, when the moment arrived both boys adorable sang their song and Liv sang the most beautiful simple unaccompanied version of O Holy Night and we had a great visit with everyone at each stop. The kids mostly enjoyed everyones pets. Susan had a fun bird and kitty and Kathleen and Sherman a sweet little dog. Kathleen and Sherman loved the performance so much that they asked for 3 different encores with any other songs the kids knew and they were happy to oblige every time. Then, the next day they brought over donuts to thank us for stopping by.
