Aladdin Play

Liv has been participating in an Up With Kids Program all school year.  She has never grown tired of it , and now that it is over she is begging to do it again next year.  I'm pretty sure theatrics is her calling in her life.  She lives for drama and the stage.  I was so impressed with the program; it was a little bit of training in dance, vocals, drama, auditions, memorizing monologues, etc.  Then towards the end of the school year they put all they had practiced into an Aladdin/ Inside Out mash up play.

It was for elementary school age kids and they broke the group into 3 ages that all went at a different time until the very end when they put the whole play together.  Every kid was given fairly equal parts and a chance to shine at the microphone if desired.  Liv was given the part of small Jasmine and she did an amazing job.  She knew all the dance steps, every word to every song, and had her lines down pat.  It was so fun to watch her and she was so expressive.

She did just as well as any of the older kids and had no fear on performance day.

They did one show for an elementary school close by and one for families.  My friend Camille was kind enough to share her hair skills and would do Liv's hair Jasmine style for us before each performance.

On the last performance they gave all the kids an academy award.  And, Camden and Carter gave Liv a rose.

She was on cloud 9 about the whole thing and can't wait to get on the stage again.
