Uncle Nathan's Vegas Wedding

I was supposed to work Thursday afternoon, but work called and told me to stay home because it was slow that day.  That was totally fine with me because I had tons of packing to do for our trip and otherwise probably would have been up all night packing.  When I told Derek the news, he suggested we hurry and pack and head down that night.  So he came home early and helped me finish packing.  The kids were thrilled when we both picked them up from Carolyn's with a loaded car all ready to take off.  I'm so glad we did that because it allowed us to spend all of Friday with my Dad and Lynn and we had a great day!  We spent that night with them at the Venetian.  It took the kids a while to settle down and go to sleep because they were so excited about being in a hotel.

First thing in the am, we got breakfast, visited Poppi and Lynn (who showered them with gifts) and then hit the pool.  The Venetian had seven different pools of various depths, sizes and temperatures.  I loved the pool that was only about 2 foot deep  for the kids to play in.
The kids got a lot of swimming in this trip.  They swam twice every day!  Then Poppi treated us to gondola rides which the kids loved.  Our tour guide sang the most beautiful version of Ave Maria and I guess Liv (who rode with Poppi and Lynn) was sung A Dream is a Wish from Cinderella and This is the Night from Lady and the Tramp.
Camden made the whole experience more exciting by throwing his shoe into the canal.  They had to call the mall cops to come retrieve it for us. Camden and Liv posed with this statue person on the way back to the room.
Then, we rested for just a minute before donning suits once again to meet Uncle Nathan, Benazir and wedding party at the Golden Nugget pool.  They have a shark tank aquarium in the middle of the pool and a glass tubular water slide that goes through the middle of it.  Liv and Uncle Nathan rode the slide.  All the kids were thrilled to stand by the shark tank and scream and run away every time a shark swam by.  We only stayed for about an hour or so because we had tickets to see the Excalibur show.  Poppi and Lynn bought all the kids light up swords (and wands).  I was amazed at how well the kids were enthralled and stayed in their seats for the whole show.  They loved eating the food with their hands too.

We were in Vegas for the 4th of July so the kids wore the shirts they made at art group.

We spent Saturday with Babi and Paopu.  Liv got to join all the girls for pedicures.  She took it very seriously and watched with rapt attention the whole time the guy was painting her nails.  She loved controlling the massage chair.
I did a horrible job of taking pictures at the wedding everyone looked so lovely.  I did take a pic of Liv with all the family members so she could collect a family reunion button for her school.

The ceremony was beautiful, and it was so cute to hear my little brother read his heartfelt vows to his bride.  Liv was the cutest little flower girl.  And the boys loved running the rings up to the officiator.  Afterward, they had a wonderful dinner at Mastro's ocean club.  This is how we tried to keep the boys in one place.
Carter spent a good portion of the dinner sitting on Poppi's lap eating slabs of butter.
Liv spent most of the evening on Benazir's lap.
Benazir was so sweet and let Liv try on her veil.
And she let her take home her bouquet which she held like this almost the whole way home.  The kids were fantastic in the car especially on the way home.  They were happy to just sit and watch movies after the fun filled and exhausting weekend.
Liv played nothing but bride and flower girl for several days after the wedding.
The boys insisted on wearing their pink bow ties to church this past Sunday.
