Babi's 60th

We had a fabulous weekend!  All my family flew in to celebrate Babi's 60th birthday.

 

Liv thought they were all flying in for her and soaked up all the attention.  She insisted on going to the airport to pick up first Babi and Papou and then later Aunt Kylie all in the same day.

She loved her Aunt Kylie and made her ride home in the back seat by her.

She was also thrilled to have Uncle Nathan in town and was found ransacking through his clothes on the first morning after his late night arrival (and his BFF London was happy to have him back again too).

   

Uncle Nathan was cool enough to remembered her current craze for monsters and brought her a monster towel!

 

Every morning she woke up and wanted to wake everyone up.  And every night she wanted Uncle Nathan and Aunt Kylie's spirited (but not very good for the bedtime wind down) version of Green Eggs and Ham!  I totally took advantage of the extra helpers and made them all help me take my kids to the legacy center for the boys first swim and Liv's first swim in forever.  CRAZY, but I think it was worth it.

For Babi's birthday.  Kylie, Nathan, George and I secretly put together a book from her friends and family.  We got 61 responses from an email we sent to everyone in her contact list.  We created an online survey for them to fill out with questions including favorite memory, which actress they would pick to play her, special birthday wishes, and of course whether they would prefer dinner with her or a drunk horse (93% of people preferred dinner with Jan).  Anyways, the book was complete with photos from people's favorite memories and other fun things.  It was such a hit and a total surprise. 

 For the party we made Mom's favorite Tapas and Desserts: (Liv couldn't keep her hands off the fruit.  Even when we tried to hide it from her she somehow managed to secretly sneak more all night.)

  

Babi and Uncle Nathan took Liv to the Dinosaur Museum, and I convinced Nay and Ky to split running the 8 miles I was planning to run so that I had fabulous company for my Saturday long run.  We stayed up late playing games every night and cooked some fabulous food.  I was so sad to have to say goodbye, but glad to go to bed before midnight.  Oh, and the twins were thrilled to have all the extra people around because it meant they actually got held which is the cherry on top for them! (Talk about a power suit.  Carter's shirt says Hello My Name Is Future Executive and Camdy looks like an old man wearing suspenders and a bow tie FUN FUN).
