Rise Up Happenings

 Both Liv and Carter have been in Rise Up this year and it has brought great experiences for both.  Carter got to film Sons of Thunder.  

Carter loved the jacket he got to wear in this Sons of Thunder music video shoot and had me ask Amy if he could keep it.  She let me purchase it from her and he was stoked about that.  Liv got to film the Mountain music video on the top of a mountain up Little Cottonwood Canyon.  

Rise Up was asked to record a song for the December Friend magazine called Gloria.  They recorded it in 4 different languages.  Liv was asked to record it in Portuguese.  She did so great learning the music.  It was so neat to go up to the Church Recording Studio and record that.  I loved sitting in the hall waiting for her and listening to all the kids practicing in all different languages.   Liv recorded a solo for Start a Wave, but then ended up missing the filming of the music video because she had a callback for Frozen Jr. with the HCTO at the same time.  I think they are still going to use her voice for their audio streaming of the song.

They have been super busy this Christmas season.  Carter was given a solo in one of their Christmas performances in I Saw Three Ships.  He was so cute.  He didn't even want to audition for a solo because he didn't want to ever have to sing a solo.  But, they really encouraged all the kids to audition so they could give out lots of solos, and he really liked that song so he auditioned for it.  He did such a great job.  Hopefully that will give him the confidence to audition for more solos.  They sang in this really cool Interfaith concert on a Sunday Night with Yahosh Bonner.  It was so cool.  They had a Rabi say the opening prayer and a Muslim say the closing prayer and all kinds of great Christmas musical performances from people of all different faiths.  They got to do a televised event with Gentri and FM 100.3 in the Sandy Mall.  Liv sang a solo for In the Bleak Midwinter. 

 They also got to do another televised devotional in the Tabernacle and Liv sang her solo for that as well.  It was really neat to watch them do this singing devotional in the tabernacle.  We brought Steve up with us to watch.
