Martin Luther King Weekend in St. George

 We just went to St. George over New Years, but heard it was supposed to be in the mid 60s over Martin Luther King weekend, so we decided that sounds too tempting to not pass up.  My Mom has wanted to order some new bedside tables for her room; however, when she went to order them they couldn't be delivered to her address, but could be delivered to ours.  She sent them to our house and they arrived the day we were leaving two huge boxes.  Derek didn't think they would fit in the car, but somehow he managed to squish them in.

On Saturday, we drove up to Zion National Park.  No shuttles, so we could drive ourselves through the park.  However, it was pretty busy still.  We had to wait 30 minutes bumper to bumper cars to get into the park.  We decided to hike the Watchman Trail.  We wanted to hike it the last time we were there, but it was too hot.  The weather was perfect in the 50s and 60s.  The was an occasional grumble from the kids, but overall they did great.  It was a lovely hike in beautiful Zion Nation Park and a fun way to spend a January day in Utah.

That evening, Mom, Liv and I got pedicures.  

Babi still owed Carter a one-on-one birthday date.  

She said he talked her ear off mostly about all the bad kids at his school and what they do to get in trouble.  Then, she took him to Walmart and let him choose how to spend $20.  He bought a cheap (but loud) blow horn and decided to keep the rest of the money for later.  That kids loves to save money.

Sunday, Derek and I had several zoom church meetings.  Then, we all drove out to the Mountain Meadow Massacre site.  It was beautiful out there and gave us a great opportunity to talk to our kids about showing Christ-like love to all and owning our mistakes when we make them instead of trying to cover them up.  Liv really got into making Valentine's cards with Babi.

Monday morning, we pretty much only had time for a neighborhood walk, breakfast, and some pool time  before heading home.  We bought the kids goggles at Walmart to keep at Babi and Papou's.  They all had less red eyes with that edition.  We pulled out the pool animals this go.  The kids would sit on top of them and have chicken fights.  There was the least traffic on the way home we have had in a while for St. George holiday travel!
