Over Memorial Day weekend, we did the Annual Marshall/Thorsted campout up
Fairview canyon. Annie picked the spot this year a campground called the Forks
of Huntington. It was fantastic.
Annie was such a trooper with all the kids. Played games, let Liv sit on her...

There were only two campsites there and an
amazing trailhead right from the campgrounds.
This year the Watkins (minus
Amber) and the Whitmers joined us too. They were so fun to have along. The only
downside to this campout was that is was freezing all weekend—like it honestly
never felt warm. Despite the freeze Jens slept outside in a hammock every night.
The kids loved playing in his hammock during the day.
Liv won star hiker of the
trip. She went on a long hike with Annie and I on Saturday and then hiked longer
than the rest of our whole family Sunday too.
Joel took all the kids fishing in
an awesome spot where all of them caught fish. Here is a pic of Carter holding the first fish he ever caught!
They were trying to catch and
release, but one fish bit the dust in the process, so we fried it up. Camden
loves trout and was so excited to be able to eat a fish he caught himself.
The
members of the group were all constantly playing bocce ball.
Paula even though
quite pregnant led the whole group in quite an aerobic round of fun campfire
songs.
Everyone even the Dads participated with fairly good attitudes. It was a
fabulous way to spend Memorial Day Weekend (despite some cold temperatures).
