Corona Quarantine Week 2

2 happy and one not so happy hiker on this chilly Saturday morning.

Dance continues with videos from her instructors and using the stair rail as a barre. #copaconnects

Homeschool Week 2/Day 6: Today was rough. Did you hear we are doing this until May 1st? Ugh! The kids get distracted all day long, by games on their iPads, temp tattooing their whole bodies, our dog that escaped and trying to find her.
We finally got done with everything at like 6PM tonight. We made banana chocolate chip pancakes with peanut butter syrup for breakfast (that was a highlight), we organized every drawer in the office (where we found temp tattoos). Liv wouldn't let me video her, but she actually had a vocal adjudication today where she competed against other vocalists and sang for judges that scored her. She sang Be Kind to Your Parents from Fanny and Where is Love from Oliver. Pretty sure she knocked it out of the park. The boys had to draw pictures of their animals for their animals reports (a gorilla and a tarantula--if you couldn't tell).

Homeschool Day 7: Liv was super excited that today she got to have a google meet with all her classmates. I snagged this picture of her...she was so happy to see them all!

The boys each have compiled 24 facts about tarantulas and gorillas. We have read so many articles about those two animals over the last couple weeks that I swear I know everything there is to know about gorillas and tarantulas. It rained off and on today, but one of the times that the sun came out we did a few laps around the block, and I must admit being out in the sunshine is good for the soul! For art, the boys had to make these puppets for their musical theater class.

Playing battleship via Skype with Babi.

Homeschool Day 8: The boys spent the majority of the morning being shirtless warriors yelling war cries in their made up warrior language in a fort I can't get into downstairs.

It was impossible to get them to start homework, so I hung with Liv...got to hear her fiddle. Believe it or not the day started with snow covering the ground, but then the sun came out so we played street hockey.

Jens came and took my spot after a while (bless him). Then, for art the boys did this string art kit we found while cleaning out the office drawers and Liv has been working all week to learn about drawing a perspective drawing. Here is her practice.

Homeschool Day 9: We work up to lots of snow.

Camden went and played in it, then we all had hot cocoa. We organized a closet in my room today.  Carter excited claimed the the top shelf because he said the guns were up there.  And he was totally right.  These are now all locked away.
The top shelf had all sorts of dangerous knives and matches as well.  The boys sat on the floor decided how they would divi them up for when they are older.

We also found this candle that Liv insisted we light.

And when we got to the floor, we discovered the wall to the outside had mold all over it.  Our outdoor water hose site was leaking.  We had barely turned it on to start watering the garden and there was no wall damage yet, so it was a good thing we decided to clean out my closet that day otherwise who knows how long that would have gone on before we noticed.
Animals reports continue. The boys had to video their teacher their favorite fact they learned today. Then, for PE we tried toe fencing among other indoor games.

Homeschool Day 10: The boys had to make their own musical instruments for school today. Camden made a ukulele out of a tissue box and rubber bands. Carter made a maraca out of a waterbottle and lentils.

Each kid cleaned out one of my kitchen drawers. After we finished all the school work, we went for a bike ride together thanks to a neighbor who air compressor pumped Carter's too flat to pump up tire.

The boys are crazy and have created their own mountain bike track in this business park close to our house. Then, Liv and I rewarded our efforts of these last two weeks with for real musical theater tickets streamed strait into our living room!Liv and I are in our happy place tonight watching two of her @hcto favorites @kellyecoombs and @david.p.smith reenact their amazing show from last season Daddy Long Legs.
