Back to School

Here's the boys on their first day of school.

They were so excited to go without me and seem to love school so far.  That same day Liv had a little meet the teacher day.

She got to check out her new desk and new room and see her friends in the class.  Oh man the day Liv discovered that she had Mrs. Ficklin and that Hallie her Bestie was in the same class was a joyous day.  I have not seen her so excited about anything ever.  She knew Hallie had received a postcard from Mrs. Ficklin and that day when we got home, she ran to the mailbox, and to her excitement there was a similar postcard for her.  She started jumping up and down and screaming.  Then, she immediately made me call Hallie and they both screamed with each other over the phone.  Oh boy!  She also has her good buddy Leo in the class and Lennon a girl in our neighborhood that is also in her sunday school class, so this is all so exciting for her.

Liv started school the day after the boys.  Here's the new dress she picked out for herself and she wanted all things Shopkins this year...backpack, lunch box, water bottle...

She wanted to bring sushi her first day of school, so we picked up some fresh california rolls from the grocery store, but then the night before she decided she wanted to give school lunch a go. She was also super excited about school and walking to the bus all by herself without me.  Luckily, another Mom sent me these cute pictures from the bus stop of the bus gang.  Now, Andee Braithwaite next door stops by every morning to walk with Liv to the bus and she walks her home too.  She knows how to get online and check the school lunch menu and then will decide whether she wants to eat lunch at school or bring lunch from home.  If it's lunch from home she usually opts for ramen noodles in her thermos.

Some firsts for the boys with the start of this school year also include starting Let's Play Music and getting to play soccer for the first time.  Camden literally counted down the days and then the hours till his first music class.  And when it finally arrived, he proudly sported his music bag and made me take a picture in front of Miss Alissa's door.

They seem pretty excited to be playing soccer, and were very excited when we took them to the store to buy shin guards and cleats.

However, at the first practice...they seemed to loose interest pretty quickly, so I guess we will see how games go.  Age 4 is tough for sports.  I remember Liv struggling too and refusing to leave my lap to go play.

We are all starting to get into the new routine.  I was dreading Liv being gone for so long and that last hour or so of the day we all start to miss he and anxiously await her return.  But, I have also loved having a little alone time with the boys.
